Nutrition

What you eat or don't eat can be a huge factor in your health. Clinical nutrition examines the relationship between diet and health. Special diets may be recommended, and treatment may include nutritional supplements such as vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and other nutraceuticals. "You are what you eat." Food sensitivities, food allergies, blood type, body type, your medical diagnosis, lab results - all of these may be considered in determining the best healing diet for you and your condition.

Herbal Medicine

The use of plants for healing dates back to the beginnings of civilization and is the foundation of modern pharmacology. Plant substances from around the world are used for their healing effects and nutritional value. Each plant is like a unique biochemical factory producing multiple substances that can be incredibly powerful at supporting healing. Dr. Doug mixes herbal tinctures as well as prescribing patent herbal mixtures.

Homeopathic Medicine

Based on the principle of "like cures like" homeopathic medicine was developed in the 1700s. Minute amounts of natural substances energetically potentized are used to stimulate the body's self-healing abilities. Dr. Doug uses both classical homeopathy where a single remedy is prescribed, as well as homeopathic drainage where combination remedies are prescribed to detoxify and strengthen certain organ systems.

Lifestyle Counseling

Physical, emotional, nutritional, and environmental factors affect health. Dr. Doug helps his patients to make effective lifestyle choices as well as teaching various stress management techniques including meditation and EFT.

Injection Therapies

Though not technically natural, injections of vitamins and other natural substances are a safe and powerful adjunct to other natural therapies. Dr. Doug frequently uses vitamin and mineral and homeopathic injections both IV and intramuscular and finds these clinically very useful for everything from chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia to lupus and cold and flu prevention.

Exercise

A common part of Dr. Doug's prescription will be some form of exercise. Movement of the human frame is vital if health is to be regained.
