As we enter the new millennium more and more of us are choosing health care that
promotes overall wellness.
As a naturopathic physician, Dr. Miller is trained to diagnose, treat, and prevent
illness in those of all ages. Since 1992 he has focused his practice on helping
others to optimize their health using natural, preventative, and drugless approaches.
Dr. Doug Miller, ND completed his Bachelor of Education at University of Alberta
in 1979. He was inspired to study natural medicine after having his asthmatic symptoms
resolve completely while being treated by a naturopathic physician. Prior to attending
naturopathic medical school he studied classical homeopathy in Bombay, India in
1987.
In 1992 Dr. Miller graduated with honors from the National College of Naturopathic
Medicine in Portland, Oregon (4 year program). Since then he has been in private
practice as a naturopathic physician in B.C. and Alberta. In 1998, as part of his
ongoing educational upgrading, he completed Louis Klein's 2 year Homeopathic Master
Clinician course.
In general practice as a naturopathic physician Dr. Doug's goal is to help his patients
optimize their health and vitality and inspire them to take responsibility not only
for their own health, but also the health of the community and the planet.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Miller lectures regularly in the community and
also teaches classes in homeopathy and natural medicine. He enjoys wildcrafting
herbs, hiking in Monashees, organic gardening, singing, playing music (guitar and
fiddle), skiing, and spending time with his wife, Caren, and their two children,
Orion and Orissa.
